about
Ze in the Clouds is a cutting edge multi-instrumentalist and producer.
He created his own compositional style as the result of his jazz origins and his continuous studying and evolution. He shares his thousand faces without any stylistic boundaries with people and musicians who have the same vision.
“Lyn is the first track that I composed for my first album, it was therefore natural to imagine this track as the first single. The song Lyn starts with an hypnotical loop which brings the listeners through the cloudy and intimate first part of the song and then breaks into a melancholic truce. In the third part of the song the loop comes back, increasingly accompanied by polyrhythmic levels that explode in a climax that is almost ironic. I found myself having some difficulties while producing this album: it wasn’t easy to express in music all of my ideas and feelings. Linda Feki, with whom I established a deep bond, was crucial (as well as Dario Bassolino) in this process. She gave me technical help and pushed me to have a greater vision. Ultimately, Lyn is the result of a profound intimate search and analysis of feelings and sensations that accompanied me throughout the composition of this song”

Spiraling, jazzy songs from musician and physician Eki Shola, who began writing songs as a form of healing after the 2017 wildfires. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 4, 2020
The first track is a bit of an outlier, perhaps connecting back to earlier albums where jazz foundations lead the way, before going all out berserk with the beats, beats, and beats. Bass and electronics are now the mainstays over the hip-hop influenced rhythms. But the horns are still layered back in with style. I initially passed this over, but the Szlam / Ścieki tracks blew my socks off and in desperation for more, I was led back to this. I can't wait to see where Błoto go next. rvss.eel
